safety awards to Croydon schoolchildren
DARTH Vader had his Green Cross Code hat on last week to meet the borough’s junior road safety officers.
Ashburton resident Dave Prowse, the original Green Cross Code Man, paid a trip to Fairfield Halls on Thursday, March 26, for the seventh annual mayoral presentation to the officers.
The scheme encourages primary schoolchildren to become more involved with road safety issues.
The Mayor of Croydon, councillor Manju Shahul-Hameed, presented certificates at the event to the responsible pupils from schools across the borough.
And they were entertained by theatre companies using comedy and interactivity to reinforce messages about road safety.
